Origin: His sire Lansing is the third licensed son - after the stallions Cantus (by Caletto I) and Calvin (by Caletto n) - out of the Roman daughter Monoline Inder his sport name Exception he obtained the performance requirements for breeding through his achievements in international advanced (S) level show jumping. In 1991 when he still had a Dutch owner, he became Bundeschampion of five-year old show jumpers with Hermann-Josef Kldpper in Munich. From the first years in breeding at the Holstein Verband stations in Hohenlockstedt and Wellinghusen, there were many foals that received a premium. In the meantime there are seven State Premium mares and three licensed sons on record. Besides Lancelot Quainton, his other two licensed sons are Lake Bid (2001 Holstein licensing winner) and Lassito (2005 Redefin licensing winner). The dam Espe II is also the dam of Carpe Diem (by Candillo) a 2005 Bundeschampionat finalist in the class for six-year old jumpers ridden by Markus Merschformann. The dam's sire Cor de la Bryere was one of the most important line founding stallions in Holstein breeding after World War II and not only had undisputable qualities as a sport horse maker but was also the origin of stallion dynasties that flourished. Cor de la Bryere often added that leading edge elasticity and skill to the great capacity for performance that Holstein horses have, the reason he had such a positive influence in all areas of sport and breeding. Silvester, who is found in the third generation, also supplied a strikingly large number of talented and often internationally successful advanced (S) level show jumpers. Among his nine licensed sons, the internationally successful dressage horse Silvano (Ellen Bontje) is particularly famous. Lancelot Quainton comes from Holstein line 18 b 1 which produced numerous stallions such as the well-known sires Constant, Farn, Lagos, Landsdown, Laudon, Legenddr I and Legendar n, Placido v. Paemel, Quantum, Renders, Roman, Ronald, Silvestre and the internationally successful show jumper Campesino/Thomas VoK.
Performance record: Lancelot Quainton received a premium at the 2006 southern German Hengsttage in Munich-Riem. He passed his 30-day test with especially high scores in all partial areas and placed in tests for young riding horses. In 2007 he collected his first ribbons in novice (A) level tests for young jumpers.
In 2009 he returned to England, where he has continued to be produced professionally gaining his double clears Newcommers/Foxhunter and competing successfully in all the 6 year old age classes. He know has joined Ben Maher's yard where he shall continue his progression into International Show Jumping.
