1st September will see the televised final of Sportjumping at Quainton Stud.
Sportjumping is a new equestrian event which combines the traditions of showjumping, and the excitement of racing, to create a facility of having organised betting at an equestrian competition.
If racing is the sport of kings then Sportjumping is an equestrian competition that knows no barriers. By creating a timed handicap for the competitors, everyone who takes part has a fair chance of success. Teenagers can compete against pensioners, men against women, amateur against professional, all on an equal basis.
Adding the opportunity to have a sensible bet creates that extra degree of excitement, and yet at the same time, the talent and determination of the rider and the bravery and intelligence of the horse can still be appreciated by everyone who loves horses.
The qualifier will take place on 7th July, with the chance to practice over certain course elements on 22nd June
