Introduction
Quainton Stud, set in 250 acres of beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside will be hosting three national showjumping meetings in 2008, including a prestigious Horse of the Year Show qualifier, along with the first ever British show qualifier for the World Breeding Championships. This follows the huge success of the Grand Prix meeting in July 2007.
These events offer sponsors and spectators eight full days of entertainment and thrilling competition watching England’s finest showjumpers compete at the highest level. With one of the largest prize funds presently available in England, these shows are set to attract the country’s top riders and horses along with many international stars.
Quainton Stud’s inaugural Grand Prix meeting in 2007 was hailed as an unmitigated success, being highly praised by riders, owners and sponsors alike. Excellent equine facilities, dedicated, exclusive VIP areas and unrivalled public viewing ensured that the show provided atmosphere, excitement and glamour. Quainton Stud was recently awarded “Best New Show 2007” at the BSJA regional award ceremonies.
Attractive prize money, packed public galleries and the nations’ top athletes like Michael Whitaker, Tim Stockdale and William Funnell, ensured that Quainton Stud and its sponsors enjoyed extended media coverage within the press and on SKY TV.
As a Centre of Excellence, Quainton Stud is used throughout the year as a base for training of many British teams in both showjumping and eventing in their preparation for “London 2012”.
