Ben’s Pony Diary

Quainton Stud jockey, Ben Maher’s monthly column/diary in the popular kids title, Pony Magazine. In the October issue, Ben dedicated his whole diary to review his time at the Quainton Stud Grand Prix Show in July.
Chatting about the classes that he competed in and all the stallions that he rode or featured in the stallion parade, Ben’s diary is a great little review of the show and open day. Including pictures of Ben jumping Avanti Quainton and Ben and Ellen Whitaker signing autographs, be sure to grab a copy of October issue of Pony Magazine to read about all it.

Quirifino Comes 3rd in Seven Year Old Grand Prix
Quirifino Quainton was third in the Seven Year Old Grand Prix in Chantily France. He narrowly missed winning the class and held his strong lead up until the last few horses with the advantage of going at the very end of the class managed to steal victory from him!
However, four fault free clear rounds at this Four Star International Horse Show, is another fantastic achievment on this exciting stallions CV.

Quirifino Qualifies for Seven Year Old Championship
Quirifino qualified for the Seven Year Old Championships at The Scope festival coming third in the qualifier. His amazing quick double clear was a real achievement from this talented young horse as he had to jump outdoors on grass, straight from jumping in the indoor arena, where he had just jumped two huge rounds in the Foxhunter Qualifier, only faulting by tapping the the last fence in the jump off.
Ben said " He was so tired he was dragging his feet accross the floor all the way back to the stable, but in the ring when I needed to ask him a question he came up with the answers every time, I truly believe Quirifino is an exceptional horse". Ben is not the only one who feels this way, already orders are coming in for Quirifino's stud services for 2008, he will be busy competing throughout next summer, so breeders are advided to book early to avoid disappointment.
